Construction of a new photonics lab will start this month, with delivery scheduled in Q4 2016. The new facility will be home to 230 employees of Leti’s Optics and Photonics Department, currently spread out across five different locations.
The five-story building will contain a total of 12,800 m² of lab and office space and will house metallurgy and characterization labs, a 900 m2 cleanroom, offices, and, on the top floor, a 100 m2 VIP reception room offering 270° views of the campus and surrounding mountains.
The building will also offer exceptional environmental performance, recovering 50% of the energy consumed by the air extraction equipment, for example.
